About

I AM HAPPY YOU’RE HERE

About Me:

How do you start an about me? The last time I wrote this I was 23, and I thought I had it all figured out. As it turns out, that version of me in that specific moment did. Now years later as I was creating my tasks for yet another rollout of writing, I came across this about me. I truly don’t know how I ever had the previous one up this long.

About Me’s make me nervous, probably because I don’t know how I am going to tell you about myself in 2-3 paragraphs (let’s be honest, I know anything longer will result in your attention span is immediately going elsewhere, I mean you’re already reading this on your phone or laptop, I don’t blame you.) I think we know the basics; I am a young black woman living in Washington DC, I work full time and write full time. I consider my writing a soul gift and it is one of the things I am truly sure about that represent who I am. I’m pretty funny, and I love to smile, mainly because I know my smile usually makes the person I’m smiling at, smile back. I have a lot of thoughts that spin around in my head, and I am going to share about 25% of them here. Why? Because I need a place to share them. More importantly,  I want you to feel seen. Whether it is in a way of making you laugh, giving you a little guidance when you’re feeling lost, or just being a friend during a time you could really use one.

I used to think I knew all about self-worth, self-value, and self-love. As it turns out I actually had, and still have, a lot to learn. So instead of me teaching or giving advice, I’m going to consume as much life as I can and regurgitate it back to you. My hope is you either feel connected to what I’ve been through,  take my lessons to help you make different decisions or maybe make similar ones, because not all my ideas are bad ones. In fact a lot of them are pretty good, like writing this about me.

So thanks for being here, thanks for sharing your time with me, now let’s begin…
